Bring 5 potential materials to class. Think about what their physical qualities can bring to the construction of an object. What kind texture does each material have? How doess light affect it? (is it opaque, translucent, reflective), Is it fragile or solid? Heavy or light? Does it support or need to be supported? Can it transform something else? Is it rigid or flexible? What size is it? Does it force us to see or move in a specific manner? Does how/where you found it give it a particular meaning?
Bring in a brief description for each material, in which you never call it by its name. These texts can be written in any style that you choose (narrative, essay, poetry, lists, ets).
Also, bring in 3 connectors, or things that can be used to attach or bind materials (more traditional examples are: nails, glue, string, fabric, ribbons, wire, tape, etc)

(consider what actions your materials bring to mind)
